Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 October 2026
These terms apply to the CutStack app and this website. "We" and "us" mean the people who make CutStack. By using CutStack, you agree to these terms.
Using the app
CutStack is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms add to that agreement. If the two disagree, the standard EULA applies.
You may use CutStack on any Apple device you own or control, as the App Store allows. Please don't copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, or use it to break the law.
Your content
Your projects, parts, offcuts, photos, notes and exports belong to you. They are stored on your device and we have no access to them. You are responsible for the content you add and for where you send the files you export. Our Privacy Policy explains this in detail.
The free plan and CutStack Pro
CutStack is free to download. The free plan includes one project with up to 15 parts, cutting layouts, and export to cut plan PDF, large diagrams PDF, CSV, SVG and JSON backup.
CutStack Pro unlocks the rest of the app: unlimited projects and parts, duplicating projects, CSV import, the offcut inventory and reuse, Cutting Mode, part labels, and Excel, DXF and G-code export. The features and prices are shown in the app before you buy.
CutStack Pro is available as:
- Monthly or Yearly: an auto-renewing subscription.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase. It does not renew and is never charged again.
Subscription terms
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancel or manage: manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (in the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions). If you have CutStack Pro, you can also get there from Settings in CutStack. Cancelling stops the next renewal; CutStack Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trial: when a free trial is offered, its length and the price after it are shown before you subscribe. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and your Apple Account is charged. Each Apple Account can use a trial only once. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds: all payments are processed by Apple, so we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides under its own policies.
- Restore Purchases: on a new device, or after reinstalling, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases in CutStack to get CutStack Pro back at no extra cost.
Your data and backups
Your data lives only on your device. We don't keep a copy, so we cannot recover projects or offcuts that are lost or deleted. To keep your data safe, make a JSON backup from Settings in CutStack and store the file somewhere safe. You can bring it back with Restore JSON. Restore Purchases brings back CutStack Pro, not your projects.
No warranty
CutStack is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work hard to make the app correct and reliable, but we don't promise that it will be free of errors or always available.
Cutting layouts, cut steps, material use, costs and savings are calculated from the sizes and settings you enter. Always check measurements before you cut. You are responsible for your material, your tools and working safely.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including wasted material, lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of CutStack. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for CutStack in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If you keep using CutStack after a change, the new terms apply.
